Storage of Hydrogen
There are several ways. They differ in usability for large or small systems and their advantages and disadvantages.
The general criteria for choosing a hydrogen storage method are:
- ease of use and
Hydrogen storage is one of the major problems with hydrogen technology and hydrogen economy. The issue of hydrogen storage at the industrial level is solved, so most research is focused on storing it in smaller systems for mobile applications - for example, for the propulsion of passenger cars.
One of the problems is the low volume energy density of hydrogen. Therefore, for use in mobile applications, it must be stored - compressed under high pressure or liquefied in pressure tanks. Reaching high pressures requires additional energy inputs.
