Hydrogen use in the automobile industry
Mobility without harmful emissions is a reality. Environmental performance, excellent technical features and a wide range of fuel options. These are the foundations and main reasons for the gradual transition to hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in the automotive industry.
The parallel development of electric vehicle technologies (electric motors, batteries and lightweight composite materials) has transposed hydrogen and fuel cell technologies from laboratories to industry or reality.
All major car manufacturers have already (or will) introduce their hydrogen powered electric vehicles. The governments of the most developed countries have pledged to further support the development and construction of charging point infrastructure.
The benefits of using hydrogen in transport are no secret:
- high energy efficiency,
- environmental integrity,
- quiet operation,
- compact design.
